hi Zeid . . . I was wondering if you would come across this one or not . . . This is the film version not the commercial version, there are 45 second versions running on stations now…
So since its PG work, I wont comment, wont even comment under a different name, just will say that this was a beautiful experience for us all and generated an end result we are all very proud of:)

great ad
3. ammar omari | July 7th, 2008 at 3:41 pm
allow me to comment… the music in the beginning sounded like indian or Malaysian or something like it, some parts of this t.v commercial sounded fake, the mother giving her daughter a hug.. its kind of fake, couples waking up and watching sunrise is fake too, some faces were not chosen carefully, they’re not photogenic, so they needed a replacement, overall, there is nothing new about shooting this one, it would work for fly emirates and others…

So the first comments are in…
a. the music is indian or malaysian
b. the mother giving her daughter a hug is fake
c. couples waking up is fake
d. models were horribly chosen
e. models are not photogenic
f. models need to change
g. nothing new about it
h. it is being compared to fly emirates ads (the brand being emirates)
i. there is no new technology or styles being used in photography
thank you Ammar for your opinion and for your injecting your years of experience in TV production into your thoughts, much appreciated

Well then I’ll add these credits.

ZEID…maybe it’s just that I dont know how to shut up:)
Dori is amazing, but it was also incredible to work with Issam Husseini, the way he visualized the storyboard and jumped right in was cool.
I am sure not everyone will love or like the TVC, but the equipment used, the locations shot and the entire experience is something I am very proud to have been associated with, so maybe I was wrong in post #1 when I said I wouldnt comment, but I’m not really commenting am i

I think criticizing is always easier, but the thing is that this tvc is a tribute to Jordan and other destinations promoting them worldwide on cnn and other international venues.
13. amre husseini - AKA BITEME | July 8th, 2008 at 12:18 pm
He…much of the shots taken in Jordan were taken in this style for the first time, utilizing remote control helicopter cameras (first time used in Jordan), the underwater shot and the stablizing cameras. Other destinations where shoot took place include, Dubai, Oman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujeirah and Lebanon. The TVC wants to tribute these places (as you noted) and show their undiscovered beauty.

Gibbo…sure just take them from the time you spend coming up with your next concept…shouldnt make a difference eitherway…
Thanks for your comment
16. Creative Rules | July 9th, 2008 at 11:24 am
Amre,
While I understand all your comments about the production values and camera techniques and being the first to do this and that etc etc.I notice you aren’t talking about the idea. Dissolving from one vignette to another and putting on supers has been done alot in this region for tvc’s and even more so for corporate videos.
If it is a corporate video to promote Saraya to the trade and for internal use then it’s fine. But if it also doubles up as a tvc I doubt if it will cut through and grab the viewers attention. Because as you know, the consumer doesn’t get into production values and camera angles and so on, all they remember is an original, never been seen before idea.
Cheers

18. amre husseini - AKA BITEME | July 10th, 2008 at 2:06 am
Creative Rules.
Thanks for your comments like I said post #1 this is the long version that is used in exhibitions, on the websites and part of info packs etc, there are 45 and 30 second spots running now across the region and on global news stations that you should take a look at.
19. ammar omari | July 10th, 2008 at 2:31 pm
mr.amre hussaini, thank you for ur respond, i might not have that much of experience, ur right, but am allowed to comment the way i see it, i dont need experience to see some tiny details that might need to be changed, ur a young manager and running one of the best agencies no doubt, did u take enough experience to run publicis?? no, ur just smart, i might be in that place someday, as creative rules said that people doesn’t understand techniques and production, i showed this ad to many of my experienced friends and art directors working with regional T.V production companies and they had the same comments before even i said mine, so as i respected ur achievements i hope u respect my opinion and please do not underestimate my experience coz we all know its not about how many years… its about living the projects in many ways..
20. amre husseini - AKA BITEME | July 10th, 2008 at 11:45 pm
Dear Ammar…thank you for your comments…dont need to get into the details to respond to all your points, but would like to point out to you that Saraya is not a real estate developer, Saraya is in the travel and tourism business and splits down to services and destinations. The purpose of this website was to start to introduce you to the places that Saraya will take you and how they will take you there. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and all I did was re-phrase yours so I could understand it.
The objective of the 30 & 45 second versions was to get people to the website and so far its working…
21. ammar omari | July 13th, 2008 at 4:57 pm
then good job..
22. I | July 13th, 2008 at 11:17 pm
Those Who can’t DO, COMMENT
ammar omari, all of your comment are meaning less ” General words ” that doesn’t lead to anything.
Just bla bla bla
Lolz….. Everyone is super duper creative.
23. I | July 13th, 2008 at 11:25 pm
amr is right,
at the end, Does the artwork served its’ purpose?
Designers should ask this question when they design.
may be the final output is not a revolution in the world of TVC, but I’m sure it deliver the message in a nice way for the target audience.
always LOL
24. ammar omari | July 14th, 2008 at 7:57 pm
do we always have to server the “purpose”?? or create something new?? creative design means that no one ever did something like it before, or when u try to criticize the creative work u cant find any missing details… thats when u create… and as i said before am just saying my opinion in my point of view… and when i talk about these details, am talking about bringing this ad to life, just read wut i said and try to imagine how would it be like…
25. amre husseini - AKA BITEME | July 16th, 2008 at 6:52 pm
Hi Ammar, I know what you are saying, but I dont agree. Yes ADVERTISING HAS TO SERVE A PURPOSE, this blog is called ADBLOG ARABIA:) Design on the other hand serves another purpose which is not tied to communication. But we are in the advertising business and all the messages we send out to a target / consumer have to achieve a result. You are definitely always entitled to an opinion, but critic should come from understanding the facts of something and the objective it attends to achieve. Visually we might hate things, but we need to ask ourselves if its the right thing to do or not given the target and the proposition…anyway enuf said…you are definitely entitled to critic and give your opinion how ever incorrect it may be …. JUST JOKING…
26. ammar omari | July 24th, 2008 at 3:03 pm
BTW congrats on the new building…
