So the crossword is hard..OK
2. Creative Rules | August 21st, 2008 at 8:07 am
Brilliant work guys. Beautifully executed, clean, simple and you’ve landed the proposition well.
Dozy, that’s the idea. The harder the crossword the better it is. Derrrrr.

I said the idea is ok, and that’s it.
Creative Fools, “you’ve landed the proposition well”
I think it is better to do that in your business instead of your happiness of being understanding things LOL
the much you do that more we know about your mentality
BTW the idea is ok but not brilliant that much fool.

HE’S UP TO IT AGAIN ZEID!!!!
Rude insulting and personal for no reason whatsoever. Just read my post above and you’ll see there’s nothing offensive about it whatsoever. I’m simply commenting on the work that’s all.
(I strongly suggest you do something as he’s single handedly trying to ruin your blog.)

ZEID, it is the first time to talk to you
I think it is obvious who starts this here if we look to the posts.
If you need that to end up. Advice him to just take care of his constructive comments to the ads and not to put others’ names in it. Thats it.

this is so sad, a bunch of grown up people argueing all the time.
People, show some respect and comment on the ads.
Agencies post their work so you could comment on them and so they can get feedback. If you carry on like that no one will want to post anymore.
Im going to give my comments on the ad now.
Visually its quite nice, even though it looks like a stock shot taken from the backgrounds section.
But i find this a very strange brief, why would the Times (a very important paper) want to advertise the crossword?
I mean there are newspapers and news channels all competing against each other why would a crossword be a selling point?
Unless what theyre trying to say is, our fun crossword is so intellectually challenging, can you imagine what the rest of the newspaper is like?
Its sort of like The Economist style ad.
But i guess ill never know unless one of the creatives tell us.

Well, I have to say that my role here is limited.
I would suggest Creative Rules, Amre, Dozero and Quick Comment to all calm down.
Let’s try something. None of you talk to one another please.
Then let’s see who’s still ‘poking’ the other.

Quick Comment, being the first and only poster to have his highly offensive post censored on Adblogarabia and then following that up by calling the owner of the blog a hypocrite and a homosexual I hardly think you are in any position to say ” it’s so sad to see a bunch of grown up people argueing all the time”.
What a classic post
:)

Sorry Zeid this was posted before reading #7.
Agree with everything you said because it’s getting totally boring. Yaaaaaawn!

quick comment,
the times crossword is world famous. 100’s of papers around the world carry their crossword each day. this and sudoku can generate 1000’s of daily sales for a paper. therefore its a big money spinner.
that’d be why they release an ad. i used to do it a long time ago.
but now I’m cool.
good stuff guys (from the target market)

17. Adrenaline | August 22nd, 2008 at 11:33 pm
A worn eraser would have made more sense
18. Creative Rules | August 23rd, 2008 at 8:37 am
No Adrenaline that’s been done to death. I liked this because it’s a fresh way of doing it. Plus it looks great.
19. Moey | August 27th, 2008 at 11:27 am
I don’t like it.
20. kusum | August 27th, 2008 at 11:48 am
Bloody boring. And trite. And cliched.
Pencil, eraser - obvious choices when it comes to their usage with a proposition of ‘really tough crossword’.
Would rather have used an ink pen and twisted it to say, ‘Dare to take it on?’ since it does require some kind of genius to attempt the Times Crossword with an ink pen.
A Times Crossword is aimed at intellectuals with a huge vocabulary and an unlimited appetite for solving twisted cryptic clues.
Somehow the ad appears very dumbed down for this audience.
Btw, try solving this one.
Clue: Stop the car by the see-saws and the swings.
4-letter word.
