He’s an artists whose work is seen everyday by hundreds of millions!
Yet he’s unknown.
Dennis Hwang is the 28-year-old webmaster/artist who has been drawing Google’s logos since 2000.
You’re probably familiar with some of his famous works like this one:

The Anniversary of the Wright Brother’s first flight
And there are countless designs commemorating all sorts of occasions, from all over the world.
Many designers admire Dennis’ work, and some are fans who save his drawings and have built up a collection of them.
Read an interview with him at CNN.com.

silly drawings. like the concept behind them, but i hate the google logo and all its iterations. shame that i love all the services google offers. just shows that a good product can survive with bad packaging.

You have a point Ivan, the Google logo is simple and not very impressive…. but, it’s become a worldwide icon.
Like the Coca Cola logo, for example, it’s old fashioned and ugly, but it’s recognized.

Coca-Cola logo is old fashioned for a reason. One of Coca-Cola’s brand pillars is it being the first and being historic, etc. But in Google’s case it’s just bad design with nothing to back it up.

Another proof that tastes govern everything in this life … Ivan hates the logo and its simplicity .. I find it clean and the colors are fresh .. and I like Dennis’s drawings .. they are light and expressive

I find this page to be one of the most inspiring when it comes to Logo flexibility.
