First of all and as i said before the logo is POOR & UGLY
I love the concept behind this campaign and graphically the visuals are treated well but still i am against using black as main color for the template !! black footer with black frame !! it looks like obituary ad, so why to communicate death while I am talking life???
Lame Advertising
2. razor | September 18th, 2007 at 12:39 pm
Totally dated looking, badly concieved and completely irrelevant.
You love the concept??? What concept???
You’re obviously not on the creative side Restless and if you are you should get out now.
3. restless | September 18th, 2007 at 12:54 pm
RAZOR are you creative ? if yes then you have to reconsider your attitude ,,
4. razor | September 18th, 2007 at 4:36 pm
So let me get this straight.
If I’m not creative I can have a bad attitude.
For God’s sake make sense man.
5. restless | September 18th, 2007 at 4:50 pm
RAZOR are you into advertising? if yes then how on earth you cant see the concept behind these ads!!! anyway as i can understand it they want to reflect a positive image of ZAIN where each one of us has big ambitions and dreams so ZAIN is here to stand by you with its services and Contributions so they are lifting ZAIN image to another level making it more human and close to each one us and to be more than just ordinary telecommunication company, i think this is a good move and it is way way way better than ORANGE childish campaign ,, but the logo doesn’t complement what they are saying because its more Electronic and dull

I dont have a creative outlet but I think I have enough sense and taste to make judgement on the Zain logo (even if it does not sound intelligent). Does the word “ugly” qualify?
The logo is very ugly and weak, it is not creative or intelligent on any level. It does not capture the already existing subscriber base nor does it attract new subscribers.
The marketing campaign across Jordan (I havent seen it in other countries) is poor with nothing to offer in comparison to the crisp look of Fastlink. I have to say I am even ready to drop my fastlink account, because as superficial as this sounds… I dont like the sound or feel of zain. More reason to leave considering that even the customer care is poor (the new IVR system makes for appalling service - I never call customer care anymore).
Shame. Fastlink was a strong brand. What I dont understand is why there is a move away from localization of brands. Regionalizing them does not always work. I guess we’ll have to wait and see!

Hopefully you’re not working on highly visable campaigns in Jordan Restless.
Life forn all Jordanians would be incredibly dull.
8. restless | September 19th, 2007 at 10:46 am
Razor, hopefully you will stop your stupid comments and start doing good advertising instead of the crap that you are producing Every day !
9. razor | September 19th, 2007 at 11:36 am
Doowit,
This can be the problem with regional campaigns. What they should do is research it before they run it.
10. khansa | September 19th, 2007 at 11:47 am
bad logo ..
nice visuals ..
11. Ahmed Qandil | September 19th, 2007 at 11:55 am
I cannot get the idea behind all these slogans actually!
it is really bad logo. i think this is just like the arab bank campaign! you will never understand the goal behind it!
12. razor | September 19th, 2007 at 11:59 am
Ditto Ahmed

I would agree with all of you guys. I tried looking at this campaign from all angles and tried to understand it… in vain
1- Weak logo shape (a whirlpool? sinking into oblivion?)
2- Weak logo colors (puke ugly)
3- What’s with the so-called “lifestyle” ads? How does the line make sense or bear any kind of catchiness or interest?
4- The black copy sucks and mixed with red lettering is completely not legible… what were they thinking ??!!!
It’s clear that MTC (Zain) has got tons of disposable cash on hand, gotten from all these years of monopoly and high communication prices. Im looking forward to liberalization of this market.

very pedestrian work.
Restless, can you explain the concept to me maybe? Looks like boring shite to me.
15. Hans Anderson Abu Dhabi | September 20th, 2007 at 7:45 am

Bad Logo, bad concept, bad everything, they restrict themselves in using the black in all there works, which is so bad for any art work.
Regards
17. restless | September 20th, 2007 at 1:02 pm
Hans Anderson Abu Dhabi or “Peter” Y&R Amman ,
Let me correct you,
1- you wrote “abnd” and its is “and”
2- you said that a cleaning man would know better much more then me ” , yes he knows much better than me in cleaning the garbage (pepole like you)
18. restless | September 20th, 2007 at 1:27 pm
*1- you wrote “abnd” and it is “and”
19. Adey | September 20th, 2007 at 1:29 pm
insults, insults, insults, this is just what I see in this comunity site, you called this a creative? no I don’t think so, you must be creative in negotiation before you critic any creative work.
stay in peace people.
20. Creative rules | September 20th, 2007 at 3:40 pm
Restless,
I don’t need to pretend I’m someone else to critisize you because you’re such an easy target.
But I do agree with you about the new Zain logo.
Cheers

Color reproduction = 9
Photoshop skills = 8
Concept = 0
To bewilder the audience without being controversial at the same time look boring and ordinary = capital advertising sin

I logged in here so that I learn from creative heads and their thoughts on the art of advertising.
And what do I find…? The art of belittling and criticizing.
23. rabie soubra | October 31st, 2007 at 4:44 pm
the logo looks like that of creatiev zen mp3 brand. astoundingly unimaginative for a 3rd operator in saudi.
then, the concept? hasn’t “beautiful world” been over used to death. not to mention its relevance to a 3rd operator coming in to a market which is so saturated with mobile users.
24. khalifa | November 26th, 2007 at 9:30 pm
i like the zain commercial on mbc4 becuase of the music…any one knows where i can get it?
25. iramo | November 28th, 2007 at 3:38 pm
i worked in this campaign… the visuals are great… i agree that the black frame is not a good idea, the logo was done by Lebanese art director, but this logo was designed basically to be with the visual, and thats a mistake, the logo should be great alone or with the images, guys we are not discussing our opinions to fight here or to look like kids playing, say something good or show us what you got or leave…
