Orbit back in the football game
September 18th, 2006 Zeid Nasser (Admin)
Orbit Satellite and TV Network, the first pay TV network in the region, is trying to get back its position as a leader in sports programming, with an alliance with Al Jazeera Sport to offer Orbit subscribers the Spanish and Italian Leagues.
Orbit adds this sports programming to its already existing NBA channel and coverage of tennis and other sports.
But, everyone in TV knows that nothing beats football. So, now Orbit are back in the game.
It is most likely that Orbit will receive a feed from Al Jazeera Sport channels in full, complete with Al Jazeera’s advertisers.
Therefore, the key revenue benefit for Orbit will be increasing its subscription base.
