MySpace surpasses Google and YahooMail in traffic
July 16th, 2006 Zeid Nasser (Admin)

Social-networking site MySpace.com has surpassed Internet powerhouses Yahoo Mail and Google as the most popular U.S. website, according to research from Hitwise.
In the week ending July 8, 4.5 percent of all U.S. visits to the web were to MySpace.com, and traffic to the social-networking site has soared 132 percent in the last year alone.
Marketers in the US are still trying to figure out how to use MySpace to promote their products, which is why MySpace’s leadership means little so far in terms of impact on Google and Yahoo’s established advertising solutions.
Anyway, MySpace will figure out something soon.
I wonder how popular MySpace is in the Middle East.
For now, read the details about MySpace overtaking the mighty Google and Yahoo here at The Globe and Mail.
