Maktoob Women re-brands as Helwa
August 20th, 2006 Zeid Nasser (Admin)
Maktoob Group is re-branding its Maktoob Women , calling it Helwa and it continues to be sponsored by Nestle.
Literally translated, Helwa means ‘pretty’, but the site slogan says ‘be pretty on the inside and the outside’.
In any case, this focus of a leading Arab online business on the female market signals the growing requests by advertisers and sponsors to tailor content to Arab women.
Helwa follows Hawaa World and other women portals.
It remains to be seen how much advertising revenue can be generated from these portals.
