Leather sofas fresh from ‘the wild’
September 27th, 2006 Zeid Nasser (Admin)
Yes. Those are leather sofas in the wild, creating an impression that the sofa you buy from Home Center is as real as the animal the leather came from!
Is that an animal-friendly message? Well, we pretend that leather grows on trees, but it doesn’t. It comes from slain animals.
Smart idea, but controversial.

gross, politically incorrect and done in very bad taste. makes me want to puke.
if home centre had its way it would replace the worlds fauna with furniture?

A very fine piece of creative communication indeed. But to respond to friend alex… what does he sit on at home… coir mats? What does he use for a wallet… a pouch made from banana leaf?
What does he eat for dinner… grass? I think it’s time to get off the moral ground sometimes and appreciate a good thing for what it is.

advertising like any mass media involved has a responsibility towards society. when you shape mass consumer behaviour, it goes beyond personal likes and dislikes and should be exercised with responsibility and an understanding and respect for the world around us.
