i would suggest to remove the headline because its not working with the visual + to remove all the copy because there are too much information’s in one conceptual ad !!!

  • 2. AbdallaH SumriN  |  December 23rd, 2007 at 7:52 pm

i agree with restless, but i suggest to replace the headline not to remove it, cuz without the headline people will not get it, and yes no need all these information in the ad.

  • 3. restless  |  December 23rd, 2007 at 8:40 pm

abdalla man, where are you these days? are you in amman ?

  • 4. biteme  |  December 23rd, 2007 at 8:59 pm

Removing copy is always difficult when a client has a lot to say. Although I feel the visual is well photoshop”ed’ I have always had a problem with people burning national symbols, like currency, passports….maybe I’m against burning the flag…

  • 5. restless  |  December 23rd, 2007 at 9:08 pm

Biteme, i totally agree with you about burning the national symbols but I disagree with you about the headline because this headline in specific has got nothing to do with the visual!! overall I don’t like this ad

  • 6. lion rules  |  December 23rd, 2007 at 11:52 pm

Didnt do it for me either (actually didnt understand the headline) :) but it is difficult to satisfy clients wtih copy (body text)…

  • 7. kre8tive  |  December 24th, 2007 at 10:03 am

I think the visual is too common (cliché) and it would never lure the reader deep into the copy. The use of the Cedar Tree (poor tree) has been raped for centuries now, I guess creatives from this part of the world has to know that there’s more other visuals that can be used instead of going “the easy way out”. NO it didn’t work for me either.

i would like to add a tiny comment, all what abdullah said and restless is right, but about the passport, its from left to right, shouldn’t it be from right to left?? please correct me if am wrong…

  • 12. ammar omari  |  December 24th, 2007 at 6:38 pm

and one more thing, if this is not a press ad, then the text is not too much, coz when u do a poster or what i call informative poster that talks about something like that you have to mention these points…

  • 13. restless  |  December 24th, 2007 at 8:06 pm

Ammar, this is a conceptual press ad and not an announcement ad which means that it should be single minded so no details and points needed to deliver the message (it doesn’t matter if its a poster or magazine ad), so if there anything they want to highlight in details they can design a leaflet or a brochure to highlight more details and point,,,,, actually this is how I see it ….

    Thanks

  • 14. ziad hamdan  |  December 26th, 2007 at 1:11 pm

about the lebanes passport.. It is from left to right actually because they follow france.. I also didn’t like the headline font?!

  • 15. ammar omari  |  December 26th, 2007 at 3:52 pm

restless, thank you, good point, actually i hate to see that uch of text on a poster or anything… i guess the client asked for that text, coz who did this good re-touching and image is not that fool to put that text on the ad…

  • 16. ammar omari  |  December 26th, 2007 at 3:54 pm

and one more thing, why the leather background?? does it refer to anything?? maybe if it was green leafs or something related that would be much better…

  • 17. restless  |  December 26th, 2007 at 5:00 pm

ammar, to educate the client is the key :)

  • 18. ammar omari  |  December 26th, 2007 at 7:23 pm

  • 23. Fred  |  December 31st, 2007 at 10:13 am

I like the visual of the burning cedar whoever did the fotoshop work did a great job.

Dunno what the headline says and I don’t care as the visual is so strong… agree there’s too much copy…. anyway…. no one reads copy anymore.

    Otherwise good stuff Grey,
