AdVerbatims …. we hear everday

advertbatims

The people at Adverbatims say:

“Pay attention, professionals –or not- in Communication, Marketing and Advertising. These things happen almost every day; sometimes we don’t even notice them. But they’re here to stay. They are verbatims. And yes, they’re REAL.”

There are loads of these ’sayings’ and you can even download them as PDF. Very entertaining, and tragically true! Check it out.

mediasouq orange

Dear AdBlogArabia visitors and friends,

It give me great pleasure to announce to you mediasouq

It is a project I’ve been working on for several months; and is a first-of-its-kind platform for advertising and media professionals in the Middle East to present their work, opinions and themselves to a wide regional and international community.

It’s all Do-It-Yourself, presented in a Web 2.0 format and quite simple.

First, register to open a mediasouq account.

Then start uploading (submitting) your ads into the gallery, your jobs into the job section, your events into the events agenda, your media rates into the media rate database, your company contacts into the directory…… you can even submit an Opinion Article.

And, gain exposure to thousands of marketing communications professionals in the Middle East.

Accordingly, we are only accepting content from the Middle East, but everyone else can visit, watch the action and comment!

Try it, and see why mediasouq is the media e-market for the Middle East; and kindly give me your comments!

Thanks,
Zeid Nasser

Ikbis, ‘presses’ into video sharing in Arabia

IKBIS

Tootcorp (owners of Arab bloggers community/aggeragror iToot.net) have launched Ikbis; the first Arab video and photo sharing web site.

It’s fully bilingual (Arabic/English), user friendly interface and an attractive Arabic brand.

Ikbis means ‘press’ or ‘click’ in Arabic and aims to become the No.1 destination for people across the region who want to store, organize, share and talk about their favourite video clips and photos online.

What does all this mean to advertisers?

Well, for a start, it will be a portal to advertise on….. but also to watch closely if users upload videos, commercials or any kind of materials realted to brands or products.

Very interesting and challenging times for marketers ahead…. don’t you think?

100 million websites and over 50% are blogs!

100million

Netcraft, an Internet monitoring company that has tracked Web growth since 1995, says a mammoth milestone was reached during the month of October.

“There are now 100 million Web sites with domain names and content on them,” said Netcraft’s Rich Miller.

Technorati claims to be monitoring 55 million blogs. If that is true, then 55% of Internet websites today are blogs.

Now that’s shocking!

Arab online video sharing by AlArabiya.net …. what!

AlArabiya

Strange!

An official news source and top Arab satellite news network is pioneering the concept of online video sharing in the Arab world!

AlArabiya.net, the highly trafficked website of AlArabiya news TV (part of the MBC network), introduced an online video sharing site and it’s quite successful.

Whereas independent sites like YouTube or Metacafe created this idea worldwide, the most popular Arabic implementation comes from the website of a TV broadcaster!

Obviously, they’ve got some Web 2.0-influence within their otherwise rigid news organization.

AlArabiya2

The question is, how relevant are personal videos (some even taken by mobile phone) to a serious news site. Is comedy and ridicule part of the image of a professional news TV channel like Al Arabiya?

Visit AlArabiya’s video sharing site here.

Web 2.o logos have a home

Web2Logo

Here’s something interesting. This is a site featuring the logos of new-age Internet companies, referred to as Web 2.0 businesses.

Web 2.0 is just a trendy word that means websites which utilize the latest trends and technologies in the Internet world, such as social networking, file sharing, blogging, bookmarking and so on.

It’s an interesting showcase for Internet website logo branding.

Give Web2logo.com a look, and vote for your favourite Web 2.0 logos and sites. You can even submit your own site or blog.
