Adbuster's logo-spangled American flag has become an icon in its own right for the anti-brand movement. This July Adbuster is reminding Americans again: This July 4th I pledge to do my duty and take my country back. www.unbrandamerica.org.

There’s nothing more personal than your ‘personal computer’, right?
Apperantly, Hewlett-Pakard wants to remind you of that fact, and wants to claim to be the only company who realizes it.
HP says your PC is “your own broadcast network,” “your private media empire” and “it’s your life”!
Sound a bit like Apple’s approach to marketing, doesn’t it?
Get personal with your computer.

Here’s an intelligent campaign running now in Brazil, for eye-glasses company Titanium.
As you can see, the giant rounded mirrors in this underground garage are styled like eye glasses, which apparently look exactly like one of Titanium’s designs. There are several of these mirrors, and in different designs.
Passers-by will stop to take a look, and read an information plaque beneath saying that it’s a promotion by Titanium.
Portuguese readers out there, if you can see the letters on the plaque…. translate please for the rest of us!
The agency responsible for the campaign is Publicis Brazil.

Here’s an interesting billboard for Mini in Austin, Texas.
The idea is one of ‘environmental responsibility’, as Mini has made room for mother nature by donating two thirds of its purchased billboard space to The Nature Conservancy.
Sorry about the electricty lamp-post in the middle of the visual! It’s the only picture we’ve got.

We’ve already seen a car on a Uni-Pole in Dubai a few years back, but this ‘contraption’ in Turkey is a first!
Imagine walking down the street, only to see a vertically standing Renault Megane rotating in circular movement.
At night, color lighting makes it even look more stunning.
Three such ‘units’ were installed across Istanbul, and obviously caused quite a stir among consumers.
Renault on a stake, anyone?

It hasn’t taken long for an angry PC fan to hit back at Apple’s “I’m a Mac” campaign which berates PCs and comparitvely glorfies the Apple Macintosh.
Although not officially endorsed by any PC company, this individual effort is an example of how the web empowers customers to defend or attack brands.
An independant consumer, and amateur film-maker, Reece James has created three spoofs of the current Apple campaign that compares the Apple to the PC.
Please be warned that the commercials use slightly obscene language.
Watch these new, spoof commercials.
And catch-up here with AdBlogArabia’s post on the original Apple Campaign launched last week.
