“The English School”!!! which English school? where is the call for action? website? phone numbers? address? e-mail?…fax
anything. My guess is that this is someones faild attempt at beaing “creative” even as a copywriter.

so???
6. Rayomand | May 14th, 2008 at 9:08 am
Nice word play, a recent billboard in the US had a similar idea of Are Osama and Obama brothers…it was for a church. This seems like scam but it’s nice all the same.
7. copyblogger | May 14th, 2008 at 9:40 am
It’s difficult to understand how people like Louai get into so much nitty-girtty of the ad and how sometimes forget the idea and concept, instead they focus on which English School where, how and what. Fine sir, get your point but apart from that can you please be a little more appreciative and at least understand the concept , idea or where the copywriter is coming at. Please be a little more judicious next time. By the way Vinit great work, great AD and kudos to the art director Ramesh, very simple and makes the impact.

Website would be nice, but why does there have to be a call for action???? Very smart very simple ad NICE!
9. Sahooma | May 14th, 2008 at 12:04 pm

11. AbdallaH SumriN | May 14th, 2008 at 12:31 pm
Simple but not creative
12. Vikas | May 14th, 2008 at 1:31 pm
Good idea. Easy to understand. Especially for a category that does not understand the language well. Keep it up.

Cheap & below the belt
14. Sudhir Nair | May 14th, 2008 at 3:42 pm
Dear Vinu:
This is brilliant! I dont think there is any call to action needed. maybe an URL.
The concept is bang-on. Sure to get noticed.
Cheers
Sudhir

18. hussein | May 14th, 2008 at 6:11 pm
i saw hundreds of these 2 words concept in the British council.. 10 years ago..
19. Mary | May 14th, 2008 at 6:14 pm
it needs to be more clear as to what kind of school you are advertising for. maybe like a language school or something.its a good attempt.it has humor and conveys a message too.
20. vinit | May 14th, 2008 at 7:12 pm
Agreed hussein two word concepts aren’t un common…one can’t reinvent the wheel but you can improve on it. Don’t know if Osama or Obama was one of the concepts you saw in the British Council … 10 YEARS AGO!

Fabulous! Great impact. Not below the belt in any way. I don’t see a need for a call to action - this was about a concept.
A concept which I think can be used in a few ways - perhaps an English school or maybe even a PSA about getting people to pay more attention, read, and truly understand issues more clearly - don’t be fooled, kind of an idea - this would be great in the US right now.
(little editorial - come on people, I’m with copyblogger here - please be more judicious or thoughful in your comments - perhaps even offer thoughtful alternatives if you find the current idea objectionable.)
22. HM Stieber | May 14th, 2008 at 7:41 pm
Another thought…Rayomand - to me this concept is the complete opposite of the ad that has appeared in the US on billboards - portraying them as similar or even brothers.
Having said that, I am very baised and want to see it that way. With some little copy at the bottom, I guess it could go either way, but given the “a single letter can make a world of difference title” - I took it to mean there is a BIG difference.
23. kre8tive | May 14th, 2008 at 8:34 pm
I think a lot of you guys missed the point in here. Stop talking about freaking addresses, email or bollocks call-for-action! This is a good project for an english school, BUT you guys couldve done waayy far than this cliché. The ad doesn’t in a way crossed the line an english school should communicate. I mean, SPELLING? Obama v. Osama? Nice try Vinit, you could have made it like a sentence for example, “IT IS FORBIDDEN TO ENTER A WOMAN” (as you mean to say women are not allowed to enter) or “BUY 1 PEACE AND GET 2 PEACES FOR FREE” and close it with a line saying, “learn proper english”
My 2 Cents
24. vinit | May 15th, 2008 at 9:25 am
Thanks Kre8tive…but I think your examples are a done concept…this was just another approach I took…Thanks anyways
25. kre8tive | May 15th, 2008 at 9:59 am
Well, Vinit.. this ad is a done concept also…. You just have to stretch it
26. vinit | May 15th, 2008 at 10:38 am
ok send me the copy of the done concept…and we have extended the thought…check it out!
27. r h | May 15th, 2008 at 10:40 am
i think its pretty innvoative…dont think its repeated
good work!
28. kre8tive | May 15th, 2008 at 11:01 am
Vinit, no need to send you a copy… just log on to ads of the world. Extended? My goodness!
29. Vinit | May 15th, 2008 at 12:45 pm
Yes I do check ads of the world…which ad are you refering to there…yes extended your goodness!
30. kre8tive | May 15th, 2008 at 2:07 pm
Oh, bother…..
31. Vinit | May 16th, 2008 at 10:33 am
well, let me know of a key search word for the ad you are referring to in Adsoftheworld or stop blabbering!
32. adlover | May 16th, 2008 at 12:26 pm
Well the ad gives out a very powerful message and the best part, it’s kept very very simple, which is needed exactly for this particular target audience. Good show! Wonderful concept and brilliant execution.
33. Shrady | May 16th, 2008 at 12:31 pm
Obama…Osama hahaha 2 ends of the world… really nicely done and i think the black and white gives a very strong message in the ad. It not only shows Good Vs Bad but actually portrays more of 2 ends of the world or 2 opposite situations. The twist is really good. Cheers!

From Merriam Webster online.
Alphabet = “a set of letters or other characters with which one or more languages are written especially if arranged in a customary order”
The copy should read “a single letter can make a world of difference.”
If you’re doing an ad for a place that claims to provide expertise in the English language, it would be best to ensure that the copy is written in correct English, surely?
42. vinit | May 20th, 2008 at 5:30 pm
Point noted…thanks …will make the necessary changes.

Bull’s Eye!
44. jude | July 1st, 2008 at 11:34 am
can this be the line?
What comes in between makes a huge difference!
can the ad be for a condom brand?
Can it? It can, i guess.
