Real People, Real Beauty

You’ve probably heard of this ground-breaking campaign in the United States, which is now going global with new ‘real models’.
The idea is simple: advertisements for beauty products make women feel ugly!
Let’s face it, how many women look like the picture-perfect models in advertisements for beauty products?
That’s why the inclusion of real women, whose ‘measurements’ are not typical of models will show that they too are beautiful.
A global study by Dove, covering 3,300 women in countries like the USA, UK, Japan, Germany and Saudi Arabia, supports this.
In fact, the results for Arab women has convinced Unilever Arabia to launch the campaign in the Middle East. Apperantly, nine in ten Arab females revealed they are unhappy with their physical attributes. The study has also shown that 46% of young Arab girls, whose ages range from 15-17 years, wished they would see more girls and women in the media that looked like them.
Interesting!
